The sight of Newport sailor and Puma Team skipper, Kenny Read, arriving at the opening ceremonies of the Volvo Ocean Race Singapore Stopover in a trishaw, while the music of the Dropkick Murphys, a Celtic punk band from Boston, played in the background is a something we won't soon forget. But the highlight of the ceremonies were the lion dancers, acrobatic teams of boys, costumed as lions, performing on top of wobbly platforms of various levels. A few of our new Singapore friends joined us for the opening ceremonies and dinner afterwards onboard
Mata'irea. The evening was a terrific way to end our stay here in Singapore.
