The night began quite cold, but the air temperature and water temperature seemed to warm a bit as we approached the shelf water of the Gulf Stream. By dawn, any breeze we had was gone, and we dropped the main and motored without sails for a few hours. In mid-afternoon the wind picked up a bit and we were able to set the jib and raise the main. We saw a few dolphins and swallows, and set out the hand line to see if we could catch anything. At 4:30, we finally had enough wind to turn off the engine and enjoy the quiet of just sailing. At approximately 10pm we entered the Gulf Stream.
