Since everything I know about horseflesh begins and ends with the fact that Catherine the Great was a big fan, the finer aspects of our first outing in Chicago were wasted on me. But Sten, whose sister used to ride, assures me that the horses performing in the Noble Horse Theater's rendition of the Nutcracker, were doing some pretty tricky maneuvers. The rest of us were just glad that we weren't completely sober.
After the show, we headed over to a Mexican restaurant in the Old Town neighborhood. Over many beers and pitchers of margaritas, we caught up with our Chicago friends. At one point, and I'm a bit fuzzy on the details due to the aforementioned margaritas, Rob leaned across the table, and confided that he had bought us a gun. But more about that later.
